Our Proud Club History

Albion Rover is a proud football club that respects and honours it’s rich history.

Founded In

1969

Albion Rovers FC is a proudly multicultural football club based at Kevin Flint Reserve in Cairnlea, Melbourne's western suburbs. Founded in 1969 by the Turkish Cypriot community, we've grown into a welcoming home for players and supporters from all backgrounds.

Our Heritage:

Originally established as Royal Park Soccer Club by the Cyprus Turkish Association, our club was born from a vision to unite the Turkish Cypriot community while integrating into Australian society through sport.

In 1985, we merged with Scottish side Albion Rovers at Selwyn Park, creating a unique multicultural identity that defines us today. This partnership brought together two proud footballing traditions, symbolized by our beloved mascot "Johnny" who became a club legend in the late 1980s.
